Day 5: San Feliu de Guixols to Tossa de Mar and back

Day 5 saw a few of the group take a well deserved day off. For the others, it was a tough ride along the coastal road from San Feliu de Guixols to Tossa de Mar. The route was stunning, but was difficult because it was 23km each way and it descended into every bay, and climbed to the peak of each point between the eleven or so bays on the route.

We met some pro cyclists along the way who made it all look easy (our guide, Samu, made it look easy too).

Then we approached the halfway point of Tossa de Mar.

...and finally we were there.

After lunch we repeated the 23km trip all the way back.

Some of us stopped every 10-15 minutes for a breather, but I'm very pleased to say everybody made it there and back. For many this was the hardest ride they'd ever tried and was a stunning accomplishment.
